WHAT: The Dallas Vert Mile is a run / walk up iconic Reunion Tower in Dallas, Texas. Vert stands for vertical. You can do one trip to the top. Or more. If you're super fit - or just nuts - you can do a lot more!
Reunion tower has 50 stories and is 560 feet tall. Everyone who registers scales at least 807 steps and 470 vertical feet to the amazing 360 degree observation deck. Try to do it and not feel great about yourself. It's impossible!
Want something even harder? You can do the Vert 1/4 Mile, which is three trips up the tower; the Vert 1/2 Mile, which is six laps; or the full Vert Mile Challenge - where you'll have 2 1/2 hours to try to complete 12 laps. No, you won't run or walk down the steps. Just up. Again, and again. WooHoo!
WHERE: Straight up the most recognizable building in Dallas, Reunion Tower. It's downtown, easy to get to, and near mass transit. There's parking nearby - sometimes on weekends, you can find free parking south of the tower - or valet. And there's views upon views upon views.
The address is 300 Reunion Tower, Dallas, Texas 75207.
WHEN: Saturday and Sunday, January 12 and 13, 2019 starting at 6 a.m. We'll start someone every 10 seconds or so, since hundreds of people stuck on the same step may look cool, and it's a great way to make new friends, but it's a bad way to get a blazingly fast time. We'll send you your start time / times the week of the race.
So you can do a total of 50 (Sprint), 150 (1/4 Mile), 300 (1/2 Mile) or 600 (Full Mile) stories!
It's the new marathon - easier on your knees and other joints but harder on your muscles and aerobic system. Training for and completing the event will make you stronger and fitter than you thought possible. And it's way more invigorating than watching reruns on television.

WHO: You! The event is open to anyone aged 13 and up - younger children eight and up are okay as long as long as a parent or guardian stays with them on the stairs.
Some competitors will run. Most will walk. Some slowly. Which is good.
And way better than sitting on the couch wishing you were doing something awesome! Some amazing athletes will be there. But most
will be like you. From teenagers to grandparents. From the amazingly fit to those just getting into shape.
WHY: To get fitter, stronger, faster, healthier, happier, and even better looking - if that's somehow possible - because we think you're amazingly attractive right now! To get better in the winter, a time when most people gain weight and lose fitness. To benefit non-profit organizations. And to have fun! If those aren't enough reasons for you, we've got plenty more.
HOW: By signing up here. By inviting your friends and family to join you. By doing something good for yourself that also benefits others. Are you feeling the love?
